Session Review: Crystal Palace Park on a Lazy Thursday

Words and Photos by April Whitlow

It was a gorgeous sunny day, and though I was feeling a little under the weather (aka sick) my husband and a few other longboarders had a lovely idea to go for a skate at Crystal Palace Park.

One of the great things about Crystal Palace Park, or CPP for short, is that there’s almost always a casual session going on there.  You can usually spot the notifications on the London Longboards community page on Facebook.

Everyone there had slightly different styles.  A few were dancers and there is also a fantastic slope for practicing your slides.  Take a look below at some of the snapshots I managed from my picnic blanket in the sun.

Scroll down to near the end to see longboard dancer, Ben Bonnerjea, getting stuck on a bollard. have you ever tried to cross your legs and lower down onto the ground? It’s pretty tough to get back up again, he he!
