Words by April Whitlow, Photos by Olly Sail and a gaggle of greenwich groms
Sun Sea Skate happened back in the tail end of April, 2015 down in Brighton. Olly Sail popped down and took some photos and passed the camera around to some keen snappers on the hill as well….and then…the photos kind of sat around on my hard-drive. Oops! Though life happens I’m mega sorry for keeping these goodies from you guys! Here’s hoping that it’s better late than never!
What usually goes down in this event is a push from the station to the promenade, or ‘prom’ around noon, a flatland sesh and finally a shred of a local hill nearby.
The usual dance stars like Sergio Valdehita Munoz and many others showed of their cross-steps, pirouettes and more on the prom and Smile was on hand with their suspect white van to peddle their wares and scramble some goodies!
Some stayed on here while a gaggle of folks legged it to the hills. One Tree’s groms and many more dominated their standie game and Olly represented in his trademark lime green helmet and day-glo rayne tee.
It looks like it was an awesome day and I can’t wait to go next year! You can keep up to date on all the Brighton longboard on the prom events and Sun,Sea,Skate shin-digs on the group facebook page or like our page for these updates and more!
